Winter wonderland...

Today it snowed... and snowed... and snowed... and it hasn't stopped since around 11:30 this morning. The ground is covered in a thick white blanket, and the roads underneath are pretty slick. We got around 4 inches, and thankfully it appears to be letting up.

Normally I'd be thrilled about this. A cozy night at home with the kids.... some yummy take-out for dinner.... jammies on early.... popcorn and a movie... snuggled under a blanket or two... drinking hot chocolate...

But tonight??? Not so much! Matt had to take an early flight to Chicago this morning for work, and is "scheduled" to be home around 7:30 or so.... It doesn't look like he'll make it. Pretty much everything (schools, churches, holiday programs, etc...) are cancelled for tonight. UUUUGH!

Ok. First of all, I'm sorry you had to take Matt to the airport and everything but seriously, do you have to FLAUNT that you got 4 inches of snow? Kansas City SUCKS. We got 1/4 inch - we can still see the blades of grass peaking out from the top. Additionally, as usual, that 1/4" was followed by ... wait for it... YUP! FRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZING RAIN. LOL LOL LOL Geeeeeeeeeeez. I asked Jeff the other day, while watching a movie that was filmed in Alaska, wouldn't it be great to move to a place where you look out and see nothing but snow? And there's lots of it?? It actually feels like Winter there? YOu know what he said? I quote. "HAVE FUN!"
