Today after naps, the kids and I were playing in the living room. I was playing one of their favorite CD's and we were dancing around, having a grand ol' time. Let's just say, we were all being really loud... When the buzzer on the dryer went off, I sneaked away for a few minutes to fold a load of laundry. All of a sudden I realized it was oddly quiet... I began to think of all the things they were probably into -- playdough, paint, my scrapbook room -- a million different scenarios crossed my mind. How could they have gone from dancing and singing at the top of their lungs to absolute silence???
I sneaked around the corner and found them sitting on the couch, side by side, reading one of Caleb's favorite books. Yes -- it's Sesame Street! LOL! It was adorable! Katherine was pointing out all sorts of stuff to Caleb and asking him questions about the book. He was answering her back and the couple of times he got the wrong answer, she patted him on the shoulder and said, "No sweetie. Look over here...". It was the most heart warming moment! There is nothing better than seeing two of the people you love most in the world, love each other so completely, so openly, so honestly....
Here's some pictures -- Yes -- I had to sneak and get the camera! LOL.
They caught me with the camera!
Earlier this morning, we had a play date at Jumpin' Jacks. It's this indoor playground for kids that's full of inflatables. They've expanded since the last time we were there, and I was so impressed. They have slides, obstacle courses, the works! Katherine loved it! She jumped for about three straight hours. Caleb got in with her and loved it too. Whenever he was jumping with her, she'd always tell the other kids to watch out for "my big brother". (I have no idea why she calls Caleb her big brother, but she's been calling him that for months now...). I love how protective she is of him. She watches out for him, and wouldn't let any other kid hurt him. I'm so glad they have each other. I'm so glad they love each other with their whole hearts. I'm so glad there was never any animosity or jealousy between the two. It's so wonderful, and we are so blessed.
