So after the kids woke up from their naps this afternoon, we went over to my parents house for dinner. Morgan and Clyde also came over -- Laurie had class, and Matt was studying ... big surprise there! My dad and I played with the kids outside in the backyard before dinner, and pop-pops got out the toddler golf clubs. As soon as Caleb saw them, he ran across the backyard as fast as his legs would carry him, cheering the whole way!! He was all was all over it! An activity that combines hitting things with balls? What could be better??? LOL!
My grandma looked really tired tonight. My mom didn't want to chance that she wouldn't eat the dinner she was making, so she got my grandma her favorite take-out (ribs from Texas Roadhouse). She didn't eat hardly a bite, and she talked even less. Every time I asked her a question, she would just smile and nod. I tried to get her to come outside and sit with us while the kids played in the backyard. She didn't want to walk out there.... At dinner, she picked at her meal a little, but the definite highlight was sitting next to Caleb. He gave her a "high 5" for eating a bite of her ribs. Pretty cute!
After dinner, Caleb wanted to go right back outside to play with the golf clubs. He's got a one track mind I tell ya! When it got too cold to play outside, we let Caleb bring the clubs in the house as long as he only used them in the TV room. Yea, right.... He was running around the house chasing every ball he could find and swinging at it with all his might. All of a sudden, he got really quiet, and when I called him he didn't answer or come running, I knew something was up. NOT GOOD! I find him out in the kitchen splashing in the dog bowl with the golf club.... water everywhere... After I get that cleaned up, I once again realize he's missing. Where do I find him??? Laughing at the top of his lungs in the bathroom. Someone left the door open and the toilet seat up..... and the toilet wasn't flushed completely. Are you kidding me??? Here's my 19 month old splashing around in poop. I could have died! Totally disgusting... AAARRRGGG.
