Last night we went over to Troy and Andrea's house for a little night cap after all the kids went to bed. What started out as two couples getting together for a late night chat, soon turned into 5 couples, and before we knew it, it was almost 1 am. The best part..... It was my turn to sleep in, so while Matt got up with Caleb, Katherine & I woke up about 8:45. Talk about Heaven!
This morning we decided to take the kids to Ledges State Park for a little hike. The picture that I have in the kitchen of Matt and Katherine holding hands while walking in the woods was taken there, and it's still one of my all time faves. I was hoping to get a similar picture today. Unfortunately it didn't turn out as well, but we made wonderful memories, and that's the important thing.
Here's some pictures from today. It was such a gorgeous day and the kids had a fabulous time. Katherine is already planning our next trip!
The first pictures are from our hike in the woods. Katherine and Caleb had a great time collecting acorns (or A-COURNS as Caleb calls them) and throwing rocks into the trees.
I'm looking at this picture in disbelief. The picture I have in the kitchen of Matt and Katherine was taken when she was under 2. I can't believe how quickly time has gone. But even more than that, I'm so thankful that Katherine has a daddy who loves her so much. Every little girl deserves such a great man in her life.I laugh every time I see this picture. Katherine and I were walking ahead of the boys and I stopped to take a picture. At the time Caleb was picking up A-COURNS to throw in the trees, but as soon as he saw me take out the camera, he stood up and started yelling "CHEEEEZZE"! Evidently he's had his picture taken a time or two! LOL!!
I love these next two pictures of Matt walking with the kids. He was pointing out all sorts of stuff, trying to teach them about nature, but Katherine kept obsessing about coyotes. Where were they? Do they sleep on the dirty ground? What do they eat? Where are their babies? Could she pet one? I have no doubt that she's going to become our little coyote expert!
After we were done with our hike, we got back in the car and decided to take the kids down to the water. I wasn't prepared with extra shoes and clothes, but they wanted to play in the water. Secretly, I did too. So we rolled up Caleb's shorts, I grabbed their little hands, and in we went. It was definitely a highlight!! They had so much fun splashing in the water, jumping off rocks, and feeling the little fish swimming around their toes. It was great!! Since Matt wore sneakers, he walked along the shore next to us and snapped these pics.
AAAAHHH, such a great day! We're already looking forward to next time!
