Over the years I've learned lots of neat preschool "tricks" but the one tonight, was pure genius!! And guess who I learned it from??? Katherine!
Matt and I decided to eat dinner outside on the new patio tonight. While he was getting the kids situated, I ran to get a couple of juice boxes. I sat down and opened them and then handed one to each of the kids. All of a sudden, Katherine insisted that I pull up the two tabs that close off the top. I'm not sure I'm explaining it right, but they're the little triangle folds that overlap on the short side of the box. Does that make sense???
Anyway, the idea is that the kids hold onto the little wings that flip out much like a handle, and therefore don't squeeze the box and spill juice all over the place. What a great idea!! And the best part is that it really works! Evidently this is how they drink juice boxes at preschool...
I've tried everything -- even resorting to buying the little hard plastic holders. (They didn't work because I only buy the small 4 ounce boxes and these type of holders are intended for much larger boxes and therefore the kids can't get the juice out).
Anyway, just wanted to share with you all. I thought it was the BEST idea ever!!!

So cool! I've never thought about that either. My kids are a little older, but sometimes they still squeeze the juice out, so thanks for the tip!
