Potty training begins!

I've had Caleb's little potty chair in my bathroom for weeks now. Literally, it's probably been there for a couple months now, but he's had NO interest in sitting on the thing... So I didn't push it, but just brought it in casual conversation...

Anyway, Saturday morning Matt was going to change his pants, and he told to Matt that "you wait one minute. I'm not done going poopy". He then stood by his changing table, and finished the job, and climbed up himself to get changed. Pretty ridiculous! He's clearly ready to start potty training.

So Saturday night, we sat him on the potty chair, and he was actually excited about it! YAY! We read a few books, played with a yellow Hummer truck, and I finally decided to turn on the water in my whirl pool. All of a sudden, he stood up and started peeing on the floor and all over me. I've never been so happy to be pee'd on in my life! LOL. He sat down and finished, and we all cheered and clapped and had a parade in the house! Good times! Oh, and he did get a little sucker...

Today, he was all about the potty chair. After church, we had lunch and then he raced upstairs. We read books, played with some cars, talked about going potty, turned on the water.... all to no avail. He sat there for an entire hour, with NO success. I felt so badly for him. He even resorted to hollering for the pee to come out! He wanted another sucker in the worst way! LOL.

Right before bed, we sat him back on there, and after 30 minutes he finally went again. Woo-Hoo for my little man! I'm so happy for him. Me... not so much. Once again, he pee'd all over me -- my socks and pants were drenched before he landed back on the potty chair, but that's fine! The poor kid actually sits there for a good half hour before wanting to get up, and then when he finally does, the magic happens. I guess I'll need to learn to get out of his way!

He's soooo ready to get his big boy undies! All he can talk about is getting Thomas the Train and Cars undies! I haven't even bought pull-ups for him yet, but may just go straight for undies this coming weekend!

**** On a side note, this was originally Katherine's potty chair. It came with a white plastic part that went between her legs. I thought it was the silliest thing in the world, and something I definitely didn't need, so I threw it in the garbage. Then I had boy and realized what it was REALLY for. LOL!
