NOT AGAIN...

Since Matt's gone, Katherine slept in bed with me last night and we cuddled, ate popcorn and watched a movie. It was a great time!

This morning, when we heard Caleb wake up, she ran into his room and I let Riley outside. All of a sudden I hear her screaming "Hurry Mommy! Come quick! Caleb needs you..." I race up the stairs and into his room. I was instantly suffocated by an all too familiar smell-- PUKE. Not again! Caleb was just sick last week. He was feeling fine when I put him to bed. But this morning, when I went into his room he was covered in bright red, chunky puke. (He had his favorite Elmo applesauce as a bedtime snack). I was up for quite a while after he went to bed and I didn't hear anything, so I'm not sure when he got sick, but by by the time he woke up it was crusted over. Totally disgusting!! Why didn't he cry in the middle of the night and wake me up so that I could clean him up and help him feel better??? It breaks my heart that he threw up alone, and then slept in it... and this is the same kid who didn't sleep though the night until 16 months! Now he'll sleep though anything????

Oh, I wish Matt was home, or at least at work, so I could call and give him the play by play... Why couldn't Caleb have waited to get sick AGAIN until Saturday morning? UUUUGH.... So I spent the morning giving Caleb a bath, changing his bedding, and cleaning the carpet. What a mess!

Since he didn't have a fever and seemed hungry, I fed him breakfast, and he kept it down -- so far (knock on wood LOL!!). After lunch, I took the kids outside and we rode bikes and got some fresh air. I'm not sure what happened, but he seems totally fine now... I'm just hoping it was a one time thing!

Tonight after the kids wake up from their naps, we're headed over to my parents house for dinner. Caleb is a huge "pop-pops" boy, so he's going to get to spend a little time with Grandpa, while Mom, Katherine and I make a Target run. I can get it done so much more quickly without both kids, and then Katherine can get a little Mommy time. It works out well! And... given what happened this morning, I don't want to chance him throwing up in the middle of Target. My parents house is one thing, Target is another! LOL!!
